Seven phases, no dates
Phases
Each phase has projects to choose between, explainers that attach to what you built, and a "ready when" list. Do them in order, or skip ahead and come back for what a page says it assumes.
Orientation
Know the territory, set up the bench, agree on safety, learn to keep a notebook.
Phase 15 projects · 6 explainersFirst contact
Hear a neuron and see your own alpha rhythm before any theory.
Phase 26 projects · 8 explainersBuild the instrument
Design, build, and characterize a research-grade EEG amplifier.
Phase 38 projects · 6 explainersRead intent
Turn signals into decisions. The three BCI paradigms, real experiments, and reproducing published work.
Phase 45 projects · 7 explainersThe brain behind the signal
The neuroscience and the models, now that every equation points at something you have measured.
Phase 57 projects · 7 explainersBuild for a person
Assistive technology for one real person, and the regulatory, human-factors, and ethics literacy that device companies live inside.
Phase 65 projects · 6 explainersBeyond the scalp
The invasive, neuromodulation, materials, and wet-lab frontier. Most of it happens inside a lab.
